Based in Seattle, WA, MediaPops brings user's favorite media to them. Once we know what bands/authors/movies a user enjoys, we keep track of all new releases for that user. Our mission is to ensure people know about the media they will love.

MediaPops' users:

MediaPops was launched at TechCrunch 40 in Septenber, 2007 with Russ Whitman and Chris Kohout as co-founders.

Our number one objective is to simplify the process of you discovering
and acquiring media. From Books to Movies to Music and Games,
MediaPops aggregates all of the available items and enables filters to
deliver you quality results in a simple interface. We also let you
know every week about new media opportunities so you never miss out.
In a nutshell we take advantage of web efficiencies to connect you to
media that matters to you.

We started by asking, 'why?'

Why do I have to go from this newspaper or magazine, to this website
and that, and that, and that (you get the point) to find whats playing
at what theatre at what time?, what CD or track from one of my bands
is available? Are they coming to play in my city? What video games are
out or coming soon for my gaming system? Etc… Etc…

We understand that each of us has a very unique set of media likes and dislikes.

So we give you your own space to provide personal media results and
constantly learn about your tastes and refine our recommendations. We
begin by getting to know you better, and never stop. When you rate
media opportunities we actually listen.

Why do we link out to Amazon and others to acquire the media?

We want to make the process as easy as possible, see something you
like? Go get it! You can use other stores to buy your music, books and
everything else, but we selected companies that we felt had a great
selection and a reputation for providing value to our customers. Its
also a way we make money, so we hope that if you do decide to acquire
one of your "pop's", you buy it through us!
